Our vision intent for the pupils to love to explore, be caring and to be resilient are met in Beach and Forest school sessions. 

We are running weekly Beach School activities across the Key Stages led by Suffolk Wildlife Trust. We are so fortunate to have East Lane a stone’s throw away. Beach School is a means of giving children the opportunity to learn and develop in a natural environment, sparking their intrinsic motivation to explore, create and be curious about the world around them. Activities will include: shelter-building, learning different types of knots, beach combing, learning about flora and fauna, learning about tides, wind speed/direction, clouds, using transects, treasure hunts, making kites and miniature rafts.

We are lucky to have a large site with our own trees and this is where our own Mrs Rankin runs weekly Forest school sessions for the children. We often go to Bawdsey churchyard too where they have different trees, plants and wildlife for the pupils to engage with. Activities will include shelter-building, learning different kinds of knots, learning about flora and fauna in the different settings, making fires and fire safety, whittling and wood working and lots of different creative activities.
